Kent Marine is an international manufacturer of chemical supplements for freshwater and marine aquariums and garden ponds. Kent Marine specializes in water quality from tap to aquarium in every segment of the fishkeeping industry and also manufacturers products for aquaculture.
In just 14 years of existence Kent has grown from a small garage operation, to a major player in the pet industry. Kent is recognized as the top quality manufacturer of aquarium supplements in the industry, with approximately 95% of the large pet distributors carrying Kent products. Kent markets in all 50 states and 20 foreign countries, with major customers in quality oriented countries such as Japan, Germany and England.
Kent Marine was founded in 1989, by Jack Kent, a registered and degreed Electrical Engineer Jack has over 20 years of experience in heavy industry and spent much of his career designing variable speed drive systems, power distribution and generation systems and computer control systems for major paper manufacturing companies such as Champion International, International Paper Company, and Georgia-Pacific Corporation. His most recent position was as Senior Engineer with Central Engineering at Georgia-Pacific headquarters in Atlanta.
Jack is an aquarist with over 30 years of fish keeping experience. Having once been in the Chemical Engineering field, and working with computer control of chemical processes enabled Jack to create the Kent Marine line of chemical products, which now numbers over 100 chemical products in up to 7 sizes each.
Kent’s quality name led OASE, the large German pump company who built the jumping fountains at Disney World, and markets spectacular fountain systems and pumps in 78 countries, to select Kent Marine to design and manufacturer its line of water conditioners for garden ponds. Kent was also selected to manufacture F2 solution for Aquatic EcoSystems, again because of reputation. This solution is now exclusively used to culture micro algae for the rearing of live clams for human consumption at Harbor Branch Oceanographic institute in Florida. Kent’s quality products are also used by prestigious public aquariums, such as the Aquarium of the Americas in New Orleans, The Field Museum in Chicago and many zoos.
